China Education Expo attracts over 200 European universities

The China Education Expo 2007, to fall on Oct. 20 to 21, has attracted more than 200 European universities to attend, sources with the organizer has said.

The organizer, China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) said nearly 600 universities of 36 countries and regions, including more than 200 of 27 European Union member states, applied to attend the expo. Nearly 50 schools will give detailed introduction on the spot for students who want to study abroad with scholarship.

The expo will move to other Chinese cities, including Qingdao, Wuhan, Shanghai, Xi'an, Chengdu and Shenzhen. The expo is expected to receive 70,000 visitors.

To push forward international educational exchange, the organizer will organize the 8th China International Forum on Education at the same time with the expo. Experts from China, United States, Britain, Spain, Australia will discuss such themes as quality education resource and student cultivation, higher education quality evaluation and accreditation system, and reform of basic education.

The annually held expo is initiated in 2000 by the China Education Association for International Exchange, one of the most influential educational associations in China.
